What an amazing thing when you get to witness the Lord working. I have a few instances in my life where I saw God’s finger prints all over a situation. There was no other way for the circumstances to align the way they did. It had to be God. This is truly an amazing experience!
As I thought over the Bible passages for the day, and talked them over with the Lord, I realized that He is doing amazing things in my life and in the lives of others everyday. However, due to my lace of nearness and attention, unfortunately, miss it!
I loved the story in John Chapter 2. The servants at the wedding did not miss seeing the amazing hand of God working in the lives of others!
John 2:9-10 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
Jesus performed a miracle at this wedding and the servants were in a position to witness it. They saw first-hand when Jesus turn the water into wine. It had to be an incredible site to be standing next to the Lord when he performed this miracle.
As I read on, I realized that the servants were the only ones in the wedding that knew that something miraculous happened. This miracle was missed by everyone else! The others got to reap the benefit of the miracle and experience the great tasing wine, but they missed the best part! They missed the opportunity to know that a miracle had occurred. They missed seeing the hand of God!
Why did the servants get to witness this miracle and not everyone else? It was because they were serving close to Jesus, and this nearness put them in the right place, the right attitude, and the right attention to be able to witness something amazing.
I have to believe the same it true for me. The Lord is doing amazing things all the time. I have to ask myself if I am like an attendant at the wedding, or like a servant? Am I reaping the benefits of miracles, but never recognizing that the hand of the Lord was involved. Or, am I servant at the wedding and serving close to Jesus I getting to see His hand work in my life.
Oh, Lord, I want to be the servant serving close to you. I want be in a position (physically, mentally, and spiritually) to see your hand working in my life! I don’t want to miss it!
Where are you serving? Are you serving close to the Lord? Is your attention on Him? Do you recognize the amazing ways He is working in your life and in the lives of others? He is real, He is truly alive, and He truly loves you.
